INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Former Alabama star receiver Jerry Jeudy is apologizing to anybody he offended together with his vogue assertion on the NFL mix.
Jeudy sported a gold Star of David pendant round his neck throughout his media session Tuesday on the annual gathering of prime NFL prospects.
Requested about its significance he defined it was in reference to the primary syllable of his surname.
“My final identify’s Jeudy. Individuals generally name me ‘Jew,’ … So, I simply acquired a Jewish star,” he defined. “I am not Jewish, although.”
The Star of David, recognized in Hebrew because the Defend of David, is formed like a hexagram and is a widely known image of contemporary Jewish identification and Judaism.
Jeudy, the headliner of a deep vast receiver class, later tweeted an apology.
“Don’t imply no disrespect to the Jewish folks! I’m sorry to the individuals who take my chain offensive!!” Jeudy wrote.
